The second day of the tournament: welcoming the Olympic champion Tach Akgul
In Krasnoyarsk Sports palace of a name of Ivan Yarygin, the second day of the XXX International tournament of free-style wrestling Grand-Prix series “Ivan Yarygin” starts on 25 January. This morning the undercards - among men of the 65, 79, 125 kg and women of 53, 57, 62, 68 kg categories - start.
Among men in the category of 65 kg, we are expecting the bright wrestling from twofold bronze prize holder of the World championship, Achmed Chakaev (Russia) and threefold champion of the Europe championship, Chingichschan Erdogan (Turkey). The local fans are hoping for the brilliant performance from threefold World champion in wrestling among military men, the winner of the Junior World championship, Nachyn Kuular (Krasnoyarsk region), who has to win over Muslim Saidulaev in order to make it to the main tournament schedule. The second place will be played between Gadgimurad Rashidov and Kurban Shiraev.
The representative of the Russian team, bronze prize holder of the World championship, Achmed Gadgimagomedov claims the victory in the category of 79 kg. His competitors are athletes from Mongolia, USA, China. In selective bouts will fight – Gadgi Nabiev and Alan Zaseev, Halil Aminov and Magomed Ramazanov.
In the category of 125 kg, the most famous participant is the Olympic champion, twofold World champion, fivefold European champion, Tach Akgul (Turkey). His competitor is Russian Anzor Hizriev. We are expecting surprises from Udenni Alpadgon Esteveza (Cuba) and Ji Vei Denga (China). Selective bouts will be held between Said Gamidov and Kazbek Habulov, Pavel Krivtsov and Zelimhan Hizriev.
Among women of 53 kg we should mention the silver prize holder of the World championship, Sarah Hildebrand (USA), The Olympics-2016 participants, Sumiya Erdenchimeg from Mongolia and Hailey Ruth Ogello from USA. For places in the schedule will fight – Nadezhda Tretyakova and Leila Karymova, Natalya Malysheva and Alena Kuular.
Among women of 57 kg we are expecting the fight for prizes to be interesting. There on the mat we are going to see the World champion, Tserinchimed Suhee (Mongolia), silver prize holder of the World championship, Bilyana Dudova (Bulgaria), the European champion, Grace Bullen (Norway), the winner and prize holder of many international tournaments, Olga Horoshavtseva (Krasnoyarsk region). Also, we are hoping for a bright performance of Alexandra Nitsenko (Krasnoyarsk region), who has to win over Natalya Voljanina in the selective bout.
Among women of 62 kg, we are going to see how World champion, Marianna Shashtin (Hungary) and Jacvelin Estornel Elisastequ (Cuba). For places in the schedule will fight: Russian Ulyana Tukurenova and Elizaveta Sorokina, Darya Borbulko and Anna Tcerbakova.
Tamira Mensa (USA) of the 68 kg category has been to the tournament twice and both times she brought home gold. For sure, she is counting on succeeding for the third time. On her way stand – twofold World champion, Baatsetseg Soronzonbold (Mongolia), the participant of the Olympics-2016, Rio Vatari (Japan), and two Krasnoyarsk region representatives, Hanum Velieva and Julia Maksimova.
In the evening part of the program we are going to see the first set of medals of the tournament being played. Last night the finalists were announced:
